However two of the legs on each hall are for the 5v positive and negative power. Some motors have a 9th wire the speed sensor. Hall sensors are a type of magnetic sensor they detect the presence of a magnetic field. As a result those six legs are bundled into two wires coming out of the axle and those two wires should always be colored red and black for the positive and negative.

If you have a hall effect motor you can use either hall effect controller or no hall controller. The way this is done is by running an electrical current through a metal pad. There are three hall sensors and each has three legs for a total of nine. Finally figuring out a way to test the hall sensors without taking the motor apart.
